A message from Rev. Kemp Holden
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our new website.
We are going to use this wonderful tool to improve our “connectivity” with
you. I have been so blessed by the opportunity to visit a few of our pastors
and churches since the first of the year. I am absolutely in awe of the
quality of men and women that make up the WME membership. God has
certainly blessed us with some of the finest!
One of the things burning in my heart is to find new and creative ways to connect the local churches and the missionaries that are on the field. You probably have heard me talk about a “paradigm” shift in the way we get the needed support for our missionaries and mission projects. Many churches no longer have a Sunday night service, which historically has been the service given to missionaries to present their opportunities for involvement by that local church. With much of that gone we have been praying about a new and creative way to form connections and I am excited to share with you a new idea that has come forward that may be part of the answer. On our website we would have a world map with all of our missionaries, pastors and members identified. By a simple “click” a pastor could begin a dialog with the missionary on the field, and even do a live short feed into the Sunday morning service showing the project with direct input from the missionary to the church, if so desired. This would enable the local church to “see and feel” who and what they are giving to and thus build an important personal relationship between the church and the missionary. The possibilities are unlimited and space does not permit me to go into detail, but….continue to pray for God’s favor as far as this development is concerned. As a result of the conference in Hamilton this past April some of our “young techies” have stepped up to the plate with a passion to get this done. Wow! This could be the beginning of something really great!
On a different note, I will be using this space to share with you on a regular basis fresh ideas, leadership and ministry tools that hopefully will encourage, strengthen and empower you to fulfill your God-given calling and destiny with excellence. I am here to serve you in any way that I can. We are all stronger when we are connected!
