Hin Hiong Khoo / Edwin Marsden

Posted on: May 15, 2012

Dr. Khoo and Edwin Marsden are both missionaries with ICM. During a recent newsletter, Chairman, Kenneth Chin, had a message. This is the leadership they serve under in ICM.

"We are called to be the "salt of the earth" and the "light of the world." The condition of our world today is the result of what the Church was yesterday, and the condition of our world tomorrow will depend on what the Church will do today. We reap what we sow. It's been said that evil increases only when good people do nothing. The Bible tells us not to be deceived otherwise. If we want to reap, we must sow-cell multiplication, church growth, community transformation, national revival. This is a principle of God!"

"But more than providing answers, the Church is called to raise ambassadors. This is what we must ultimately sow into-making disciples! It is disciples that change the world for the better. It is disciples that Jesus commissioned us to reproduce. Discipleship is about following. The Apostle Paul says, 'Imitate me as I imitate Christ.' The question we must ask ourselves is, 'Who are we imitating?" A good leader is firstly a good follower. God showed me that the next time I choose a leader, I must first make sure he or she is a disciple. Good disciples make good leaders, good husbands, good wives, good fathers, good mothers, good bosses, good staff, and even good volunteers."

"We have many leaders today, too few disciples. Therefore, let us go forth and make the difference our world needs, let us....make disciples!
